Q. Can I place a hot pot on my Marble countertop?
A. Marble does have the potential to burn, so hot pots, pans and electric frying pans should not be set directly on Marble bench tops. The use of a hot pad, trivets, chopping boards or similar is advised to protect the Marble surface.
Q. Can I place a hot pot on my Granite countertop?
A. Granite is formed by extreme heat and pressure combined beneath the earths crust. A lit flame placed under the Granite will have neither a melting effect nor will it leave burned or scarred marks. However thermal shock can occur to natural surfaces, This is where a hot surface meets a cold surface, Granite can take hot temperatures however a quick change of temperature can cause a fracture or crack to occur. The use of a hot pad, trivets, chopping boards or similar is advised.
Q: What is the warranty on stone products?
A. For engineered stone products most manufacturers provide a 10 year limited warranty, others 15 years. As for natural stone there is no warranty as it is a natural product.
Q: Will stone chip?
A. Stone is a strong and durable product but it can chip and scratch if mistreated.
